Description

Kalamina Gorge, while not among the largest in Karijini, is one of the most picturesque. A five-minute walk takes you down a steep track to the base of the gorge to a small permament pool, complete with waterfall and draping ferns. There is a longer, more difficult walk for those who feel energetic. If you follow the trail into Kalamina Gorge, you will be rewarded with a lovely walk downstream, past rock pools and beautiful rock walls. You will smell lemon-scented grass and may see fish in the rock pools. The trail ends at Rock Arch Pool. 3 kilometres, 3 hours return. Pets are not permitted.

What a beautiful hike. Different from the others as you're walking along a creek bed that has water in it and little rapids all along the way. It's so pretty. So glad we came. We were told there was no water but there is heaps of water. Even though in places it seems stagnant, the water is running. The swimming hole mid way was amazing and there were people swimming at the end too. The water is crystal clear and clean. Nice just to sit in the shade and chill at both of the water holes. Our 5yo did this easily. Follow our adventures on FB @Spontaneouswanderers

Water was murky and not very inviting. Sure, water is water but I decided not to swim there. Was not very crowded but still a few peeps down there.

Beautiful gorge and waterfall, waterfall right at the start of walk and then set off along the easy stroll in the creek bed over some amazing pieces of rock. Even the first 400 metres is worth the walk with the rock formations on either side are stunning, no pressing need to go to end if time poor. Lots of algae in the water along the way. Road from the visitors centre in to the car park was very corrugated and rough but worth it for the reward at the end.
