Description
Free entry from 9am to 4pm April - Sept and 9am - 12pm Oct-March. Free entry includes: the Karumba Visitor Information Centre, an interpretive centre featuring barramundi as well as other flora and fauna in the Gulf, a theatre featuring a short movie about Karumba, free WiFi, air conditioning and toilets.
Paid tours are available by booking online. Tours providean up close and personal viewing of the only hatchery in the world to breed the southern gulf strain of barramundi. Fish are reared in the hatchery and released into the wild, as well as dams to support recreational and commercial fishing.
The Barra Bites Cafe is closed now until next April/May, serving Merlo coffee.
Pets are not permitted inside the fence.
No camping or overnight parking is allowed.
