Description

Boasting 100 large powered sites under hundreds of shady trees this is far from an average remote caravan park. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome on van sites, a small bond applies and guests are requested to clean up after their pets. Access is via 23 kms of dirt road, suitable for 2WD vehicles. If we are full, we offer an unpowered overflow area until such time as a site becomes vacant. We are also able to take large rigs, 5th Wheelers and Buses. Most sites are in close proximity to our amenities. Our peak season runs from May through to September so make sure you get in early. Our amenities and facilities are modern, clean and well maintained to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one. We also offer a coin operated laundry and a well stocked kiosk for your convenience.

We stayed there in early august and were told on arrival that there was no power due to generator fire. We still took the site thinking we can cope without power. However we didn't realise that the generator noise (from individual campers - almost every one had one) was almost unbearable as they were running all day and night! No hot showers also! And I almost forget no Telstra service at all! We were told that Telstra was sending a technician but that didn't happen in the four days we were there. Everything is as it was when it was built - probably 70's or 80's… lots of midges too. The only redeeming feature is the beautiful lagoon - great for swimming at high tide. Great place if you have a tinny.

Depends what you look for. With a swag and no fishing rod it's relentless sandflies (bring DEET as natural doesn't work), dated facilities with no soap and beach is 800m drive then a walk away. If your a fisher then it's heaven. Some things to note; they can't handle your grey water so if you don't have a tank you can't use your shower. Shower families are clean and I had hot water but had early as I started getting eaten at 4 and needed to change anyway. No camp kitchen. Friendly staff. Large flat sites with potable water. Shaded. Very little reception. Text but no internet. Quiet and heaps of space available. I think if you like to fish, fully self contained (and can hide from sandflies) then it's the gem that other people mention. Just not for me.

Highly recommend this lovely park. Each vacant site is raked and prepared. Sites are spacious. See other positive comments. Only downside and not a reflection on the park is the midges. Take lots of repellent with you.
