NeilCarol. Ummmm, so which town did you end up going to??? Maybe they got really busy helping other travellers fix their broken tyres to call you back. Calling them arrogant is really rude and unfair. Perhaps you're not suited to leaving the city. We found the new caretakers welcoming and helpful, plus the regular manager. They did their best to accommodate our booking of 8 vehicles that I'd made several days before via marginal phone signal, then followed up with an email. Everyone did their best to be helpful, it worked. Great meal at the iconic hotel. Walk in their shoes before criticising.

Had a lovely 3 night stay here. Staff great. A bit dusty where we were but only cause everyone passed us to go to the cabins. And we all know mining vehicles don't have to obey the speed signs in parks. Had a great meal at the pub. Fresh bread, pies and cakes at the general store. Clean dump point with water and plenty of parking in town. Great visitors centre open till 1pm. Don't miss the local pools or the comet gold mine tour.
