What a fabulous place, so quiet and peaceful when camped out at the base camp. Far enough away from everyone to feel like you are alone and close enough to walk to the communal area for shower and toilet. The view was fine and we loved the mist in the morning. It's hardly the owners fault that the trees were burned down in a bush fire. Nice to see the replanting is taking hold and will soon be filled with more trees! We just love how the area has been preserved and the old mill cottages have been restored. Plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the space without being on top of each other but a great communal area to enjoy together, which is exactly how we like it. Also really dog friendly too. We will be back again soon when we can enjoy a good camp fire.

Bad lack of good caravan sites. Outlook horrible.... over denuded pine plantations. Very expensive for no facilities. Disappointed.

We spent two nights here last weekend, booked on Running Brook camp site with our dual-fold camper trailer. However due to recent rain we weren't able to stay within the confines of the site (wet/muddy). Mark and Jayne made a temporary site for us about 100-150m further up the track with a stone fire pit! I think the view through the trees and across the dam was even better from the temporary site anyway! The distance to the ablutions was a little further (obviously) however this was clearly mentioned in the booking information and really wasn't difficult to navigate. A kid friendly playground and a variety of farm animals to pet and feed on a picturesque property! Mark and Jayne were very welcoming and friendly! We'll be back, for sure!
