Beachfront campsite. Suitable for tents, camper trailers and off road caravans. Located directly on the sand by the water. This campsite is approx. 35 kilometres from the homestead on a dirt road with corrugations. The sand can be soft so letting your tyres down is recommended.

We left our beach site after very heavy rain. The road back to the Homestead was horrendous. Completely flooded. We were towing a 3 tonne van so it was rather hairy at times and ended up getting completely bogged after making a bad decision to take a slip road. Luckily after a short walk of 5klms becaus3 there is no signal (could have been worse!) I managed to flag down a 4 x 4 with a winch. Thankfully he managed to pull us out. The rest of the drive back to Homestead was still rather scary. As we know now, its best to stay on the main road and don't detour.

Great site right on the water. Drive in on the dirt road is very corrugated at the moment. Took us approx. 35 mins (towing a 20ft van) to get to our site. Sand is fairly firm on the beach, not soft like we were expecting. Currently very overcast so water doesn't look nice and blue (as per other photos). Haven't been for a swim as water isn't very clear. I like to see what I'm swimming in! Great walks along the beach with heaps of large shells, though you aren't allowed to collect them as its a conservation area. So many large sea sponges washed up, which are very cool. Lots of mangroves further along the beach heading towards the creek end. Seems to be mainly fishing people on the beach and creek sites.
