Flying Scotsman

Beautiful very remote site with amazing fishing from the rocks (although the sharks 'stole' lots of our fish!). Track in reasonably good condition, about a 3.5 hour drive from the barge. Very difficult to get pegs in the ground due to 10cm of very loose sand and then solid rock. Drill with masonry bit plus expanding bolts highly recommended. Can be very windy so remember extra poles and guy ropes. Well worth the effort to get there. We spent three happy nights there.

We camped here for 1 night, as planned, and thought it was absolutely glorious! We camped at the north end camp, at the end of the track (rather than right on the water where you would definitely get wet) as there was more shelter and foliage there. We were there for a big swell - 4.5m - which put on a fantastic show for the afternoon and evening. We were lucky enough to see the inland river and the cliff top rock pools too. If you're looking for something a bit different I can highly reccomend this spot. Will add some pictures too. Keep an eye on winds as I can imagine would be a bit exposed if v windy and sleeping in a flappy tent!
