THIS IS A FREE CAMP, FIRES ARE ALLOWED, except on total fire ban days.
Toilet & Dump point at Old Town site.
This is a paid campground located along the Ashburton River. Access is via unsealed road suitable for 2WD. This site is now signposted as $5.00 per night payable at the Onslow Information Centre (max of 28 days per annum). It is dog friendly.
The local council would like campers who are staying more than 3 days to register with them for safety reasons, eg, some weather event keeping people stuck in the camping area.
This is NOT a paid camp ground! FIRES are allowed except on total fire ban days.

Ain't that the truth user 2801974. Not too many spots like this left to free camp. You would think folks would respect the rules.

Grunta and the Tonster
Great spot by the river, bring a whipper snipper and if you can't find a spot you can make your own. Yeah seriously bring one it looks like others have. Great birdlife evidence that there may be a fish or two in the river. Edit: Yep there is fish
