Approximately 68km out of Marble Bar, on the old Shay Gap Road, is a deep cutting in the hills known as Coppins Gap. Coppin Gap provides visitors with a safe and picturesque swimming location shaded by tall native trees and framed by a spectacular rock face. Enjoy a relaxing swim in the still waters and soak up the natural scenic beauty and tranquillity. Explore the rock face of the grove with its colourful bands of rock before settling down for a well deserved picnic lunch. Located north of Marble Bar, which is known to be the hottest town in Australia, the shady water hole is a great spot for a refreshing swim. The pool is shaded by the rock throughout much of the day. A four wheel drive is recommended to explore the area. Information from: Marble Bar Tourist Association. Camping is permitted however there are no facilities. Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace.

Travelling with a dog

Beautiful little spot with very few people. There are two camping areas, as I have a swag I chose the bottom section before you drive up to the top, it's more protected, and fewer rocks. Very little water. The last 2ks in the road becomes more corrugated. New signage - Kittys Gap and continue straight until you see the turn off for Coppins Gap. You can't get lost!

It was amazing drive out to coppins gap from Marble bar its about 65 km to the gap. The road out there is good. Its a beautiful camping spot not much water left. A must see

Just wondering how far on gravel road to camp site and is there much corrugation
