Freedom on The Wallaby

Beautiful camping spot. Turn right when you come down towards the river. A couple of sandy spots, so it would pay to let your tyres down to your desired pressure. Plenty of space on river-stones with a sandy base. It compares very favourably with the Gregory River. Twenty minutes into Kununurra. Enjoy!!! Saw one freshie sun baking on the rocks in the middle of the river.

Cant rate this spot enough! Do yaself a favour just go here! Dont stop at the entrance take a right and follow the river - so great spots all the way along! Some big cros spotted too!

Great free campground about 20mins from Kununurra. We have a 21ft semi off road van and got in ok. Road in after Ivanhoe Crossing is dirt, gravel and corrugations. We dropped our tyres down. The area is a mix of sand and pebbles at the campground. We camped well back from the river as we have kids and dogs. Hubby saw a saltie pop his head up while he was fishing so wouldn't want to camp to close to the river. Felt safe there. Lots of space for campers and lots coming and going. Kids loved it and built lots of tippees out of the sticks around. Saw so many shooting stars too. Good base to see Kununurra.
