There is a fantastic camping area located on the banks of the Blackwood River, 26 kilometres north-east of Augusta. The turn off is 10 kilometres from Karridale, off the Brockman Highway on to Clarke Drive. A tranquil haven, it features a stunning array of birds and wildlife and the river provides activities such as swimming, canoeing, fishing and boating making it a year round destination for visitors who enjoy camping in a natural environment. The Campground is open all year around. A maximum of 21 camping sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. No bookings are taken. During the off peak season a self-registration box for camping fees is in place. Sites are unpowered and are suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans, motorhomes and big rigs. Sites and roads have been clearly designated and camping directly along the river is no longer permitted. Facilities include toilets, cold shower, gas bbq and shelter, picnic tables, rubbish bins, water and boat ramp. Dogs are welcome but MUST be on a leash at all times.

Love this place, no internet, no phone reception unless you walk down the road waving your arms in the air. Flat sites all with fire pits . Great toilets, great swimming in summer.

hooley dooley

No phone reception

Lovely spot! Very full over long weekend but everyone well behaved and respectful of other campers - except the dogs on leash rule doesn't apply to most apparently! Telstra signal very poor!!!
