Wedgetail Eagles - ‘Samantha & Bruce’

Description
Meet Samantha & Bruce
The story of the two wedgetail eagles reads as below:
Samantha was picked up on the side of the road after colliding with a truck.
Luckily a staff member (Mags) was travelling behind the truck and stopped to check it out.
She had a damaged wing, a bad eye and a broken breast bone, (we didn't know this at the time).
Mags brought her back to the roadhouse where she looked after her until she was put in contact with a bird wildlife ranger in Karratha WA.
Samantha was flown to Karratha for treatment and care for 15 months.
Her wing and breastbone are healing but being blind in one eye she can't be released back into the wild.
Bruce (the smaller eagle) also had a tangle with a car in 2015.
He was sent to Perth for rehab for a broken elbow but was sent back to us as he can't fly.
We work very closely with the Dept of Parks and Wildlife [DEPAW]
TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE VERY WELL LOOKED AFTER AND KEPT IN PRISTINE CONDITION, there are specific rules and regulations that we MUST adhere to, to make sure that we are doing everything possible in the interest of the Eagles.
Troy Pike the regional manager for three property's across the Nullarbor, holds the LICENCE for both Samantha and Bruce, and is dedicated to helping these majestic raptors re-populate the Nullarbor through education, understanding and awareness,
As eagles mate for life, Samantha and Bruce are quite happy here.
