Warkutting Soak & Tank

Description
15-WARKUTTING SOAK
Conservation area and birdwatching site. A quarter million gallon water tank was built at this soak and there is also a gnamma hole. This site was the most northern settled area in the Mt Marshall district in the early 1920's. Tennis courts were built here and from 1924 - 1929 it became the new meeting place for Nth Bencubbin Progress Assoc which then later became the Beacon Rock Progress Association and now the Beacon Progress Association. This site is on the east of the Beacon-Bencubbin Rd approx 14kms south of Beacon on a rise.
This is a nice picnic spot with a good track leading to the east. Good for overnight stop. Van access
