Description
Only an hour north of Perth explore the science at the centre and the stunning night skies at the Observatory.
The GDC Observatory is part of the Gravity Precinct and shares this special piece of pristine bushland with the Gravity Discovery Centre, AIGO research centre and the famous Zadko telescope enabling visitors to experience science in an extraordinary number of ways.
The Observatory boasts a fully retractable roof, state of the art telescopes and amazing WA dark sky offering visitors a world class astronomy experience. Souvenirs are available for purchase at the GDC shop.
The Observatory, is situated at Yeal, between Yanchep National Park and the township of Gingin. Twelve kilometres off Indian Ocean Drive (Wanneroo Road) and twenty five kilometres from Brand Highway (near the Gingin turnoff), we are within an hour to an hour and a half from Perth and surrounds providing close access to have this truly unique experience.
Public night visits are offered on Friday & Saturday evenings currently from 7:30pm until 9:30pm. Access to the entire Gravity Discovery Centre is included in every Observatory ticket, so why not come a little earlier and explore the exhibits!

10am to 4pm - Tuesday to Thursday & Sunday
10am to the start of the Observatory session - Friday & Saturday

7:30pm to 9:30pm Friday
7:30pm to 9:30pm Saturday
There is a turning bay for large vehicles and limited parking.
No camping or overnight parking.
