Description

Kalgan Pool is located about an hour and a half drive from Newman and offers free camping beside a creek. 4WD is required for access along an unsealed, rocky, gravel road, with a number of water crossings. As this is a mining access road, a Road Access Permit is required and can be picked up from the Tourist Information Centre in Newman for a gold coin donation. This site is not recommended for caravans. Swimming is possible when water levels permit. It is dog friendly. There are no facilities. Campers must be self-sufficient. Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace.
