The Mangowine Homestead in Nungarin is a beautiful historic National Trust property which was built in around 1876.
Mangowine is located 14.5 kilometres north of Nungarin on Karomin Road. It is accessed via well maintained bitumen roads. The property consists of the first homestead constructed of stone and mud brick by the Adams family, a wayside inn, cellar, wells and a family store. Each room has been restored to its original condition, and is filled with antiques and memorabilia from this era.
Enjoy wandering the grounds comprising of 10 hectares of natural bushland that also includes a 1 kilometre tourist trail featuring illustrated interpretive signage at nine different points along the route.
There is also a 1 kilometre wildflower trail around the property for people who are more interested in the local flora and fauna.
Mangowine boasts an onsite caravan park offering affordable powered and unpowered sites for tents, camper trailers, motorhomes, caravans and big rigs.
Facilities include toilets, showers, bins and picnic tables.
Pets are permitted.
