Description

The Helena and Aurora Range is a magnificent banded ironstone formation range in Western Australia. This campsite is located on the northern side. There are no facilities at this site. Campers must be self-sufficient. Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace. 4WD is required to access this site. The range is best avoided if rain is expected (or has recently occurred) since the access track from Koolyanobbing can become extremely treacherous in places after even modest rainfall, particularly if towing. Extreme care is required if accessing the northern campsite in such cases since flash flooding in the valley that separates the western hills from the main range can make the vehicle access track impassable at this point. Pets are not permitted.
