Chappell's Bridge
CampgroundDescription
This free site offers a free toilet. It is pet friendly, although baits are laid throughout the area. Fires are banned all year.
It is accessible to four wheel drives. A big sign stating No Caravans is at the Glenoran Fire Shed entrance. Beware Google Maps. 80% of access tracks were overgrown 20+ years ago. Only Chappells Rd is open. Visitors have taken to removing posts to access beyond the roadway. Likely management will close or limit access. At one point they put steel stakes inside the bollards to stop people sawing them down. There is a single bay near one table & fireplace. The fireplace and table near the old bridge site is intended to be a day site. There is a car pull off bay near this. The old riding hut use to have a table and fireplace but have since been destroyed. This site has a double car bay. Tiger Snakes are plentiful. Greens Island is a more suitable overnight and long term stay.
