Big Lagoon Campground
CampgroundDescription
Located in Francois Peron National Park, a small campground with gas BBQs and toilets is located at Big Lagoon and there is a site for launching boats nearby. Canoes or sea kayaks are a great way to explore the lagoon.
The Big Lagoon camping area has well spaced camp sites and excellent sheltered decking, toilets and barbecue facilities near the shoreline. Camping fees apply. No bookings, first come, first served. 4WD is required to access this site.
You are welcome to fish in the lagoon south of the camping area however fishing and crabbing are prohibited in Big Lagoon's northern waters (an important fish nursery area) which are protected within a sanctuary zone in the Shark Bay Marine Park. Drop nets for crabs are allowed but set netting and spearfishing are not permitted.
To protect dolphins and dugongs, waterskiing and freestyle jet skiing are not permitted.
Dogs are not permitted.
