We absolutely loved this place, climbing up the poppet head was a cool highlight and seeing the beautiful scenery of the town. You can do the easy walk around seeing the gold mining remnants such as the battery and even seeing some mines, which you could go into (you'll get dirty though!) there is a lot of plaques with a great amount of information. It's a small carpark here, we just took our car in, you could park your caravan on the side of the road and walk in. Wonderfully explained on clear, easy to read information boards telling the stories of the people and the history of the mines. We spent 90mins exploring. There were steps and paths leading up hill but seats available to take a break if needed. We climbed to the top of the Poppet Head, lovely view but BEWARE of the BEES who've made a hive inside the white metal beam on your left as you come up the stairs on the top level.
