Description
A few kilometres west of Dimboola, next to the Western Highway, you can find Pink Lake. This lake is easily viewed from the rest-stop beside the highway and you can walk down the path to the edge of the lake.
The pink colour of the water comes from a pigment secreted by microscopic algae. The intensity of the pink varies with the amount of water in the lake.

I went here a week ago. There was no water - just wet salt. It's a lake so I assume there's supposed to be water? I've driven past many times over the years but this is the first time I stopped to look. Worth the stop and the walk down to the lake.

There's water in the lake today. It really did look pink! Definitely worth a look.
