2020 update - Camping on the shores of Lake Bolac: previously paid camping - now free or a donation for upkeep of facilities. To keep this camping option available to all, please take your rubbish away with you - leave no trace policy now applies.
Suitable for tents, caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers. Dogs are permitted on leash.
Enquiries via Parks Victoria or at the Lake Bolac Information Centre on (03) 5350 2204 between 10am 5pm on weekdays, and 10am 4pm on weekends/public holidays.
Facilities include flushing toilets and hot showers ($5 token required, available at the Information Centre or Diner & Cafe). Cold showers are available (no charge) in the old (apricot) brick amenities building at Picnic Point.
The freshwater lake is 27 kilometres around the foreshore and covers 1460 hectacres. When full, Lake Bolac is about 6-7 feet deep and is a popular boating, fishing and sailing area.
