The Derwent River is the perfect place to escape into nature and check out Tassie's landscape from the water! Your trip starts at 9 am and from there it's a day-long adventure of wildlife, water and natural beauty. You'll be just 20 km from the city, but floating past some of the most stunning natural views in the country will have you feeling like you've escaped into natural bliss! Paddle amongst tranquil bays and beneath the lichen-covered Alum Cliffs and explore sea caves and beaches as you go. You'll be able to catch some stunning views of Bruny Island and discover the ocean paradise that is Storm Bay. Explore the incredible Tinderbox Marine Reserve and keep your eyes peeled for some of the wildlife that calls this area home. You might spot majestic white-bellied sea eagles, stingrays, seals and if you're lucky a pod of dolphins or a migrating whale. Once you've worked up an appetite paddling, kick back on one of Tassie's pristine beaches and enjoy a delicious lunch. Local produce is on the menu which will immerse you even more in your Hobart experience. This full-day paddle is operated in a one-way direction, depending on the forecast wind direction. Transport to and from Hobart is included. It is a relaxed paddle but you do need to be fit enough to paddle for up to 4 hours over the day. It is suitable for beginners and children over 10 when accompanied by an adult.
