Description

Entrance to the north end of the Balfour Packhorse / Walking Track, which was once used for packhorses and prospectors enroute to the mines at Balfour in the 1900's. It is a medium, 8km 3 hour return walk through cool temperate rainforest, beneath towering myrtle, eucalypt and sassafras trees. The forest walk loosely follows the course of Stephens Rivelet. There is a small amount of parking on both sides of the road, Not to be confused with the 4WD route, further to the SW, also called the Balfour Track.
