This is the end point of the Overland Track (6day hike), and the start and end of 4 of Tasmania's '60 Great Short Walks': Lake St Clair, 45min-1.5hrs, 4.7km circuit, gr2 Watersmeet Track & gr3 Platypus Bay and Iamairremener tabelti. Mount Rufus, 7hrs circuit, 19km, mountain walk from 737m to 1416m. Shadow Lake, 4-5hrs circuit, 13km. Echo Point, 20min by ferry (ticket from Lake St Clair reception) and then 3-4hr one way, 11km walk back. Gr3. This paid information centre offers toilets, showers, drinking water and power hookups. Dogs are not permitted.
