South Croppies Point

Campground

Description

Basic camping in the Waterhouse Conservation Area. Bookings are not taken for this campground. Sites are first in best served. Maximum length of stay is applicable. No fees apply. These campsites are dispersed around the northern side of the point, South Croppies Road, and the track to the southern side of the point. There are no facilities. Campers must be self-sufficient. This includes bringing water, toilet paper, food, pre-cut firewood if fires are permitted and portable toilets. Toilet waste is to be disposed of off-site only. Visitors are encouraged to bring gas stoves or barbecues for cooking. Campfires, if permitted outside of summer season, should be at least three metres from any overhanging vegetation or trees. Dogs are welcome in the reserve but must be leashed to avoid wandering outside of camp zones, through vegetation, disturbance of wildlife and other camp users. There is no rubbish collection in the reserve and all visitors are asked to 'wildlife-proof' rubbish and remove it on departure.
