River's Edge Wilderness Camping offers camping sites in an extraordinary wilderness setting close to a World Heritage Area on the banks of the Russell River at Lonnavale, in southern Tasmania. You'll be enchanted by the serenity of the location off the tourist route, yet be accessible to everything your heart could desire. Make camp on the soft green grass, be shaded by the gum trees, light your own wood fire as dusk falls. Enjoy the privacy our large sites offer, and the camaraderie of our communal lounge and kitchen. With essential modern conveniences available to make your stay easy, simply kick back and enjoy Tasmania's sublime natural and cultural beauty. Powered and unpowered sites are available and are suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans, motorhomes and big rigs. There are standard sites, premium rivers edge sites Sites 1 - 9 (powered) Sites 26 - 40 (unpowered) and a self contained area. Facilities include toilets, showers, kitchen, wood heated lounge area, swimming holes, BBQ, fire pots at every site and open grass areas for sports. Firewood is available to purchase.
