Self contained camping just minutes from Launceston CBD - great spot to base yourself while exploring Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Camping in tents or sleeping in cars is not permitted. No booking required for unpowered sites ($20/n) Powered sites available ($40/n) - booking required - book via website: http://www.oldmacsfarm.com/bookings Turn left as you enter the property to find the campsites. Pick any available unpowered spot, then register/pay at the info hut. Power spots are booked/paid online. Taps (town water) are provided roughly every 6th site around the whole campground for the purpose of filling water tanks in camping vehicles. A $2.00 fee applies per fill with honesty boxes provided at each tap. Connecting to water taps on a permanent basis is not permitted. Generators can be run between the hours of 9am till 4pm. Power sites have their own taps for water hookup. Toilets (please note NO showers) and a dump point are available. Dump point for cassette use or similar. Buses or large RVs with tanks please use the dump point at St Leonards Picnic Grounds 1.5 kms away (better access than Old Macs) Pets are allowed but they must be on a lead at all times. Owners must pick up and dispose of animal waste promptly & appropriately. Restaurant (seperate operator) is pet friendly and there is no cost to visit farm animals. Fishing permitted in North Esk river and the lake - fisheries license required but no fee for fishing. It is accessible to RVs, camper trailers, caravans and big rigs. Closes seasonally during winter.
