Located in the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area, Nelson Bay Campsite is suitable for tents, camper trailers, motorhomes, caravans and big rigs. There are no facilities. Take your rubbish out with you and follow Leave No Trace principles. Fees apply to camping anywhere within the Arthur - Pieman Conservation Area. Obtain a camping permit through the Parks office at Arthur River on (03) 6457 1225 if you intend to camp. Obtain your Arthur-Pieman Recreational Driver Pass if you intend to drive on designated recreational vehicle tracks. (4WD, quad bikes, trail bikes). Purchase from the online Parks Shop, in-person from a Service Tasmania outlet, or visit the Parks office at Arthur River. With your pass purchase, you'll receive a complimentary Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area Driving Guide which provides essential driving safety information, detailed maps of the tracks available for you to explore, and interpretive notes on the cultural and natural features of the area. Carry adequate supplies of fuel, food and water in case you get stranded. Ensure your vehicle is in good mechanical condition and that you are carrying appropriate spare parts. Tell someone your intended route and dates. Let them know when you return. Normal mobile phones do not work in most of the Arthur-Pieman. We recommend you carry a satellite phone, EPIRB and/or PLB and UHF radio. Check for any Track Closures, or contact a ranger at Arthur River. Dogs on leads are permitted.
