Description
Lake Rowallan is a Hydro Tasmania lake in north west Tasmania. The Lake is a 30 minute drive (25 kilometres/16 miles) south of Liena, past Lake Parangana and the Mersey White Water Forest Reserve. The last few kilometres of road to Lake Rowallan is unsealed. There are 3 spots available to camp just 50 meters south of the boat ramp (look left and up when standing at boat ramp and facing the lake). Also one possible one 50 meter right of the boat ramp. A bit of elevation so nice view of the lake.
You can launch your boat at the northern end of the Lake or follow the four wheel drive vehicle tracks to sheltered camping areas where small boats can be launched from the shore. Lake Rowallan is also the starting point for walks into nearby highland areas including the Walls of Jerusalem national park.
