Description

Freycinet National Park's campground is a small coastal strip along the dunes of Richardsons Beach and the granite knoll of Honeymoon Bay. All campsites are only metres from the waters edge and safe unpatrolled beaches. The RV Sites Campsites 1-18a are hardened camping sites that protect the fragile coast allowing for small 6m (18ft) caravans and campervans. Their close proximity to Richardsons Beach allows easy access via the 2 tracks. They have power, potable water, grey water disposal and access to an amenities block. Each site is approximately 7 x 4 metres. The Tent Sites Campsites 19-45 are individual tent only camping nodes clearly delineated in the fore-dune vegetation. Each site shares a track to the beach and is within easy reach of potable water. The nearby amenity blocks have cold water showers along with hooks to hang solar showers from. Each site is approximately 6 x 7 metres. Honeymoon Bay Campsites 46-52 are perched upon a granite knoll overlooking Honeymoon Bay. These sites are some walk from the amenities where there is a potable water tap. Sites 51 and 52 have steep, slippery driveways better suited to 4WD vehicles and require a longer walk to the toilets; these sites are not recommended for young children. Each site is approximately 6 x 7 metres. Non-Ballot period Bookings: Campsites can be pre-booked through the Freycinet Visitor Centre and full payment is required to hold the campsite. Outside of the Ballot period the maximum length of stay is 14 nights. Each site can accommodate up to 6 people. Please notify the Visitor Centre if you plan to arrive a day late. All bookings not taken up by the first night will be deemed a no show and cancelled (cancellation fees will apply). Ballot period: A ballot is drawn on the 1st August to allocate sites for the Christmas summer season from 18th December to 10th February and also Easter. Only one entry per family/group is allowed for Christmas and another may be entered for Easter. Maximum stay is 10 nights for up to 6 people per site. Notification of the ballot draw will be as immediate after the draw as possible, usually two weeks. National Park Entry Fees apply in addition to camping fees. Pets are not permitted.
