Big Waterhouse Lake
CampgroundDescription
Located in the Waterhouse Conservation Area, free, basic camping on Big Waterhouse Lake. The campsite is located on the northern shore of the lake and is small with no facilities. It is mainly used by duck hunters and anglers. Campers need to be self sufficient.
Entry is via dirt road which can be corrugated. There is limited turning space and sites are small, large caravans and motorhomes are not recommended.
The campsites in this area are open, however a boomgate has been installed to prevent illegal access to the dam wall area.
Visitors are encouraged to bring gas stoves or barbecues for cooking. Campfires, if permitted outside of summer season, should be at least three metres from any overhanging vegetation or trees.
Dogs are welcome in the reserve but must be leashed to avoid wandering outside of camp zones, through vegetation, disturbance of wildlife and other camp users.
There is no rubbish collection in the reserve and all visitors are asked to 'wildlife-proof' rubbish and remove it on departure.
