This track which I planned to use to Arkaroola I found to be the most rutted, poorly maintained local access road in over 1000km on this journey. I feel for the locals that have to put up with this road to Balcanoona. We abandoned our journey to Arkaroola and backtracked to the Strzelecki track which is an amazing highway these days. So if towing normal "off blacktop" vans I would give this road the swerve and go on down to Lyndhurst / Copley as I am told that is maintained occasionally. If you want the challenge go for it.

Just travelled this road Mid April. Yes it is in fair condition. Suggest if your vehicle is equipped with clearance and suspension then it is very doable. We towed an off road van and with tyres down and taking our time didn't mind it. Note we did had one vehicle pass us so it is quite isolated.
