We did South to North beginning of December. A beautiful track which reminded us a lot about the Simpson, while still very different. We recommend it to anyone as a great test for your Simpson Desert crossing. The track was in very good condition. Corrugations as usual on tracks. The sand was quite firm and we had no issues at all. Tyres down to sand pressure. We were surprised about how chewed up many dunes have been. Honestly, if you struggle on these very easy dunes, don't even consider the Simpson... We took it slow and enjoyed the remoteness. 2 hours to Googs Lake and 4 hours from there to Mt Finke. Took quite a bit longer from the end of the track back to the Stuart Highway than expected. Probably 3 hours. Great track and beautiful scenery!

We went south to north with well equipped 4wd and off road camper, max trax got us up one dune before the lake and 3 after, definitely harder after the lake, would not attempt, north to south solo, exit to mt finke was another max trax. Was very rough and choppy the whole way, would only recommend with solid suspension and if towing also a solid trailer, was 3 hours to the lake and then 6 hours to mt finke, very enjoyable, worth the trip

Great track Trailers not recommended Some of the dunes after the lake are HARD But with recovery gear you can make it We did it with trailers and struggled No reception the whole way through
