Italian, German and Japanese were interred here during the war.
At one time housed 6000 mostly men.
Excellent information and display at Barmera Info Centre.

Make sure you attend Barmera visitor centre first and see the Loveday Camp display there. Very informative and DVD available to watch. Ironically the prison appears to be the only building left standing
