Very pretty hike with some beautiful views. Downhill on the way there, uphill on the way back. Steep at the last section approaching the cove.

Challenging walk from Tappanappa lookout for our 7y and 4y but they enjoyed it. Be prepared for a rocky scramble down and a climb back up from the Cove. Not good for those with dodgy knees, we met a couple of people who decided not to continue thru the steepest section.

Great hike. The Deep Creek Circuit is for fit hikers properly equipped. I'm a retired 62-year old, and even I managed to complete the loop. Park's say it's a 7-hr hike, but this is overly cautious (probably for safety reasons.) it took me 3-hrs from Trig campsite return .Take plenty of water and snacks, camera.,wet weather gear and binoculars if you're a twitcher! Awesome ascents and descents with the Deep Creek Cove as a beautiful rest and swim if it's calm enough. Shrimpy - Vanlifer The ManintheBlackVan
