It seemed like a strange place to put a memorial but apparently Daisy lived in a tent about 2 kilometres north from the Ooldea Railway siding between 1919 to 1934. Her aim was to provide the Aboriginal people with food, clothing ans simple medicines. She also tried to discourage contact between the Aboriginal women and the railway workers. Generally her aim was to look after the well-being of the Aboriginal people in the area.
