What an interesting little town. Do yourself a favour and visit. The main street looks like an old time movie set. In the old days, the town was absolutely bustling. Many shops and businesses look like they haven't operated for a long time, but if you peep through the windows, you'll see merchandise still on the shelves. Of course their main claim to fame is the event when General Douglas MacArthur, his wife and son passed through here in 1942, making a famous speech on the occasion. after evacuating from the Philippines. The lady in the Information Centre was very informative and friendly.

All travellers, If you are passing our way in the next few days we would like you to know the Terowie Citizens Association is holding it's ANZAC DAY DAWN SERVICE at the Cenotaph in the Main street at 6.15 am. Followed by a breakfast at 7.00 am in Supper Rooms, gold coin donation. If weather is not in our favour service will be held in the hall.
