Description

After a brief closure, we're back open for travellers as of 30/03/22. Overnight parking is available for patrons of the hotel in self-contained recreation vehicles only. You must have your own toilet. The Federal Hotel offers limited off street parking for Self Contained recreational vehicles. Great old pub currently being renovated but has a traditional front bar with no pokies. Toilets are available during trading hours. Don't judge a book by its cover, great local knowledge available, Hospitality, Heritage , History and Humour! It is a bit tricky getting in, here are the directions for those who are new to Pirie, down the main road to the lights, turn left into Alexander Street. Keep going past the round about, there is a park on the left and the hospital on the right, turn left on to the terrace (if you keep going you run into the bookies bar and our pub). Turn right onto tenth street, turn right onto ninth street, turn left onto eleventh street and proceed 20 meters before turning right into the car park. Good luck, my wife can do it with our 26' caravan. The pub is closed on a Tuesday and Wednesday but you are still welcome to park here.

Arrived this morning and the pub was closed (opens at 11am) however Mark still took my call about parking up at the rear. We ventured in to the pub around 4pm with our two boys (10 & 11 years) and Mark came over and told us about some history of the pub and the changes he and his wife had made in the last seven years. Mark was very engaging and accommodating. Would certainly recommend staying here (it's free too!) and spending some money in the pub. What a beautiful old building! Thank you

Pity we arrived on a day when the pub is not open, Tuesday. Hotel is undergoing renovations. Mark (owner) came by and we had a good chat. This is going to be very exciting place once he's finished. He was especially welcoming and we absolutely loved our night in Port Pirie. Thank you Mark.
