Murray River Banks Opp Hart Lagoon

Hart Lagoon is a free bush camping area beside the Murray River. Facilities are not provided but camping is FREE. There are walking trails, a boat ramp, sandbar and refuse bin. Dogs allowed. Please take all rubbish with you when you leave and be environmentally friendly. Please adhere to campfire regulations and do not chop down any trees, dead or alive, for firewood. Please bring your own fire wood. There are no toilets at this site. If you do not have hour own, please bury all toilet wastes completely with a shovel, do not leave anything exposed. Motor Bikes and Buggies not allowed in any of these camping areas. From the Waikerie District Visitor Information Centre proceed to the roundabout and take the third exit down McCoy Street. Continue forward onto Peake Terrace until you pass the Waikerie Holiday Park on your right. Take the next right hand turn down Leonard Norman Drive and continue down this road and it will bend around to the left and turn into Edgar Bartlett Drive. Follow this road along for a few hundred metres and the road will turn into an unsealed road. Camping is permitted along the river front on the right hand side. Please note there is limited space for caravans and RVs. Majority of the camping areas are more suited to tents. The fire danger season for the Riverland is from November 1 to April 15. During this time campfires are permitted on Crown Land, but are NOT permitted in national or conservation parks. On Total Fire Ban Days, no fires are permitted at all.

Had a terrible night. Infested with mosquitoes, 0430 am hoons drove back and forth with engine's screaming and filled caravan with fine white dust. It looked real good when we arrived except a lot of toilet paper around camp area. Did not feel safe at all. Moved on

Great spot on the river for a few days, not much traffic on river so nice and peaceful. Some rubbish around after long weekend but not to bad. Picked up what we could.

Great spot, peaceful, river not busy, no heavy traffic. Only negative quite a lot of rubbish around.
