Set up camp at the Mt Finke Campground and lay out under the stars and experience true wilderness. Campsites need to be booked prior to arrival. Unallocated campground comprising of 4 unpowered campsites. 4wd required for access. Campground is suitable for tents or off-road camper trailers. Two picnic tables available throughout the campground. Flat, rocky terrain and offers little shade at some sites. Experience the wilderness of sparsely vegetated red sand dunes that characterise Yellabinna Regional Reserve and Wilderness Protection Area. The stark contrast of red sand and blue sky is a photographer's delight, while the park also offers various tracks to explore by 4WD. Rare wildlife can also be found, including scarlet-chested parrots, major mitchell cockatoos, thorny devils, sand hill dunnarts and malleefowl. Mt Finke (137 km north of Ceduna) is a predominant rocky outcrop, rising abruptly from the surrounding open shrublands and offering spectacular views (particularly at sunset) across the vast landscape.

Amazing to watch this mountain grow out of the endless dunes. Steep hike to the top but relatively short.

Nice spot. There's a rocky track that you can dive, it takes you 1/4 up Mt Fink before circling back on itself, it's here I got 3 bars of signal, 3G (Telstra).

We found a spot to ourselves around the side of Mt Finke, amazing place and challenging climb to the top of Mt Finke for the view and to sign the book in the capsule. Saw a wedge tail Eagles nest on the side and 4 wedgies flying around. Really disappointed at the people bringing there dogs in and also the people with camper trailers wreaking the track. South side of dunes is very very chewed up
