Strzelecki Track, South Australia

Bore capped. No water. Located on the Strzelecki Track, about 220 km north-east of Lyndhurst, Montecollina Bore makes a good place to stop or to camp. There are no facilities. Campers need to be self-sufficient. Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace. It is dog friendly. Note: The bore is now completely dry as it has been capped.

Call for in an overnighter whilst travelling from Copley to Cameron Corner on the Strzelecki Track. A few scattered tables, chairs and awning. (no water), you need to be self-contained but if your out here you know that anyway. Far enough off the road to not really hear the road trains after dark. Bring your own wood as there's none around. Plenty of room for heaps of stoppers without being on top of each other. Great spot

Absolute gem of a find! Flat and protected by dunes. Minimal firewood. Easily camp under shelter to be out of elements if necessary. Highly recommend. The peace and quiet was only interrupted by bird calls and dingoes late in the night. Would stay again for sure.

We stayed overnight. Plenty of room for all. There was us in our camper and one other caravan. Dingos were yelping and calling in the evening and early morning. Very special. This area is also a burial site with plaques acknowledging those buried near. Again making this a special place. Had to imagine what the oasis must have once looked like. It is now very dry. Agree with prior comment that it would have been good to have left at least a trough for animals. Recommend as a stop.
