All camping in Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park (CYPAL) must be booked in advance. Campers must purchase an e-permit before arriving at the camping areas. Self-registration is not available and there is no mobile phone coverage on site (however there is limited mobile phone coverage on Chilli Beach). To obtain an e-permit, you can: book online visit an over-the-counter permit booking office or self-service kiosk phone 13 QGOV (13 74 68). Mobile phone charges may apply. Cooks Hut camping area features a shady and sheltered area in the rainforest near the Claudie River-a great spot for birdwatching. There are six numbered and unpowered sites. amp sites are very popular during peak periods. Campers should plan their visit and obtain an e-permit well in advance. These sites are also used by commercial tour operators. The camping area can be reached by four-wheel-drive vehicles and off-road trailers only. There are no facilities. Roads and camp sites within the park are not suitable for caravans. Campers must be equipped for camping in a remote area. Total self-sufficiency in food, water, equipment for treating water, fuel and vehicle spare parts is essential. Minimise your use of fresh water. Generators are prohibited. Fires are allowed (except when fire bans apply) in existing fireplaces only. Mobile phone coverage is not available. Domestic animals, including dogs, are not permitted in Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park .
