Please note that you will need a permit available from Innamincka hotel or online, but there is no phone service. Rangers are very efficient so have your permit ready. SA. Desert Parks Pass will suffice. You will need to cross a soft dune to access sites 3&4. and may need to let your tyres down if towing.

Lake looks fabulous, lots of birds. BUT the flies from sun-up to sunset were horrendous. Then they went to sleep and out came the night-time bugs, some so tiny they fit through the camper screens. And to top it all off the heat is horrible. We left after two nights, despite paying for four, it was just too uncomfortable, and impossible to walk anywhere during the day. We'll be back but not so late in the year next time. Gorgeous campsites, some right by the waters edge.
