War Memorial
Point of InterestDescription
In the plantation street divider.
A white marble memorial, comprising a statue of a soldier standing at 'Rest on Arms Reversed' with left hand over right and the muzzle of the rifle on the left boot supported behind the left leg by a tree trunk, on a capped pedestal and rough-cut granite block, that in turn is mounted on a three-tier concrete base and slab.
Between the pedestal cap and its base are capped pillars at each corner symbolically forming a cenotaph.
All details are in black. On the left face is a white marble plaque and a bronze plaque, on the back is a bronze plaque.
The memorial is enclosed within an eight stone post and steel chain fence.
Behind the monument is a flagpole.
