Murray Mouth is the point at which the River Murray meets the Southern Ocean, it's location is usually changeable. Historical records show that the channel out to sea moves along the sand dunes over time. The mouth of the Murray River is located about 75 kilometres south of the Adelaide city centre. During the 19th century with the discovery of gold, the river became a major thoroughfare for the carriage of goods and produce. This Murray Mouth cruise passes through a number of major towns, under bridges, and through 5 locks. Birdlife abounds and this section is rich in Indigenous and European history.
