Description

We are a working sheep station located in the Gawler Ranges, SA. Our accommodation includes everything from camping (both powered and unpowered) to shearers quarters rooms (with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities), en-suited dongas to self-contained huts. We have great common room areas and undercover outdoor seating areas to allow larger groups to come together for social functions as well. We even have the Spinifex Bar for those who might be looking for a beverage to accompany the sunset views. We have wonderful 4x4 tracks which are available not just to 4x4s but also to motorbikes, side by sides, horses and more. A range of difficulty levels means we have a little something to keep everyone entertained as they explore the property. Mt Ive is a must-see destination for nature lovers too. There is an amazing variety of wildlife and the bird watching opportunities are truly magnificent. For those who prefer the night sky, Mt Ives star gazing opportunities are worth experiencing. With so little light pollution we offer the opportunity for expansive and crystal-clear views of our wide outback skies. Not to be forgotten the artists among us will also find scenery that will challenge and excite. The peace and tranquillity offer artists of all disciplines a place to relax and focus as they set their creative side free. Still waiting for that extra special 'wow' factor to jump out at you? Mt Ive can deliver with the stunning lake Gairdner! Our private access track lets you park right next to the lake and it is the most magical spot to watch the sunset over this wonder of nature. To make this an even more special experience the same access track will also let you take just a minor detour to see some of the most stunning examples or organ pipes that the Gawler Ranges has to offer. Limited mobility? Don't worry, if you can't get out and walk you can evensee both the lake and the organ pipes from your vehicles. Our lake Gairdner track is also accessible to 2wds
