Description

The section of road between Kalpower and Many Peaks is signed as not suitable for Caravans. The main problem is a steep descent/climb about 5.5 klms North of Kalpower at the Dawes Range. This is a 1.2 klm long steep section of up to 14% grade. It is winding and narrow but is all bitumen. See the map screenshot in the photos for reference. Most of this road is gravel however in July 2021 it was in generally good condition and most of the floodway in the North section of the road have recently been replaced.
