Ducked in here just before closing time and was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised at the railway museum experience! A few nifty pieces of memorabilia to look at and a neat 3D presentation explaining the old rack rail transport system. Julian was an absolute legend - so lovely to talk to and very knowledgeable about the history of the town and the area. Grabbed a driver reviver cuppa on my way out, said my goodbyes to the staff and drove off into the sunset with a smile on my face.

Captain Harley

Worth the drive from Rocky, about 1/2 an hour. There was a display of AustinA7's there.

Grey Nomad Awards

Fantastic place to learn surprising things about the historic mine and its crucially important railway. Such as - that the mine was so phenomenally rich in gold, silver and copper deposits that "loose change" from the profits kick started British Petroleum - that's BP today! I learned this and so much more from Ken, a wonderful volunteer. What great find!
