Description

Woolcrafter's destination. Stay at the home of Polwarth sheep and visit the farm's very own Wool Shop. The Dennis family extend a warm welcome to this historic sheep farming property, located between Birregurra and Colac. Tarndwarncoort – or ‘Tarndie’ as it’s affectionately called by the locals – offers accommodation, wool-shop, tours and events. Tarndie is one of Victoria’s oldest surviving homesteads, and is the continuation of one of Australia’s oldest family farms. The Farm Shop offers a wonderful selection of wool products for craft, bespoke yarns and one off dye lots using the Polwarth wool grown on the farm – just as it has been since 1840. Walk with the sheep on the 400m Farm Trail to get a full perspective of how sheep convert grass to garments. Enjoy a great cup of locally roasted coffee afterwards. Opening hours as of Summer 2025: open Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 1pm. Dogs on lead welcome to the Farmshop.
